Former Obama Administration Official: Obama Will ‘Pay Price’ For Healthcare Promise Reversal
This morning on “This Week,” Crossfire co-host Van Jones, a former Obama administration official, said the president would “pay a price,” for reversing course on his now famous promise that those Americans who like their plans could keep them if them if they wished under…
Our condo is coming along. One day I will be able to look back at the bachelor furniture we still have. Can’t wait to get love seats once we have saved up enough. Housewarming soon <3
Few of the decisions you make in your 20’s will make or break your entire life. Try not to feel pigeonholed into keeping a career you hate or a relationship that’s gone stale because you’re “already on this path” and you feel like breaking up or quitting will “set you behind” on the track. Life’s too short to toil away at something that isn’t making you happy in the long term; decide what’s worth giving up.
It was ridiculously frustrating to be buying a home last month when it was a seller’s market and we spent every week looking at homes. Our top cities in SoCal to look at were Irvine, Tustin, Lake Forest, Orange and recently Mission Viejo. We have made 5 offers, 4 of which were either under city terms or others just simply made higher offers…but seriously?? 450,000 for a 1,120sq ft condo??? I would love love love to have a home in Irvine but they are crazy expensive and HOA is so high. I guess that is why Irvine looks so pretty!
The pic of this townhouse Ive uploaded that is all white with vaulted ceilings (I love vaulted ceilings!) was the first to break my heart! While it was a price we could afford, they just would not give it to anyone, you have to be qualified under low income and have a 20 - 30% down. Hey I dont have a job yet. Shouldnt we be considered low income siiigh!
We must have looked at over 20+ houses and we would find something wrong. The worst one was a house with no railings on a stairwell and there was a strong smell of gas when we opened the tiny laundry room (can you spell DEATHTRAP?)..why is there gas in a laundry room? Beats me but we warned the listing agent just incase he decided to light a smoke or something…. jeezus.
Our realtor is great! He is very proactive, lets us know the pros and cons of each house and lets us call him on weekends, god bless him. He found a townhouse for us on a short sale…ah the dreaded short sale! While we would be able to put in our offer at a lowball price, there is just no guarantee the bank will accept (and if they do) honor this offer. Today however the seller accepted and sent our offer to the bank and the home went on pending and now we are in for a waiting game. I love the townhouse! It has 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, a good sized backyard and a driveway, 2 association pools & spa, built in 1996 (far better than the 1970s and 1980s currently being sold at same price!) and it is in a good SoCal area (Location is everything! Doesnt matter if you have a mansion but if its in a bad area, it might be better if you just bought the 1,120sq ft in Irvine!)
So for a minute my heart swelled with happiness when we got the pending notice in our name but now we still have to keep looking just in case this bank craps on us. It could take months. Even a year.
I cannot wait till we finally have one in escrow!
New York was our first out of state trip as a married couple! We stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and had a great view. On our first day we witnessed a flash mob and a proposal which is probably the most common things happening in NY but not for us ;D….. So many people of different nationalities and languages, we felt we were foreign with our English! The later it got, the more people filled the streets.
Hotdog stands on every corner, vendors selling fake high end and touristy stuff, artistic people creating paintings in creative ways, yellow cabs everywhere on the road, people of all colors and sizes, people playing their instruments on the streets, comedy tix sellers constantly trying to get you to buy, a variety of restaurants to choose from.
My favourite part was when we got to tour and see the Statue of Liberty, Empire State building, World Trade Center Memorial site, Central park, Flatiron bldg, Strawberry Fields, New York Stock Exchange, Trinity Church, World financial center, Rockefeller center, South street seaport, fifth avenue shops, wall street, The Hudson River, Brooklyn Bridge etc etc.
Broadway shows are amazing and got to watch Spiderman and Wicked! (Thank you bby for taking me ;)) Overall it was an amazing trip and we are all new yorked out!
I cannot wait for these movies to come out!
There she is! My niece to be… Already a smiley baby :) . It makes me tear up when I see the photos =,). An extension of our family waiting to be loved and she definitely will be <3
This reminded me of the interview I had today.
The executive was a woman who wanted an EA that handled 50% personal tasks…. Like packing her stuff when she travels… O_o…
These interviews are driving me crazy.. Can’t wait to get a job already!
